Minnesota's third largest lake with 111,527 acres. Home to the International Eelpout Festival. The early French name for Leech Lake was "lac Sangsue" (Bloodsucker Lake). Either name is much easier to hand-letter into this design, over the original Ojibwe name of "Ozagaskwaajimekaag-zaaga'igan", which means, lake abundant with bloodsuckers.
